Feb :Black Cat

Here is my black cat for February.

He is from a Just Cross Stitch Halloween Ornament Issue ( I think it's called Hiss, I left off the word.) I will try to add the details when I find the issue again. It was stitched on a piece of mystery fabric that I dunked in a coffee/tea bath after stitching. The fabric was too light but I didn't want to take the time to look for something else. I wound up having to redo his eyes, since that thread took up the dye as well and turned out way to dark. Now he has the look I had in mind.

My selection this month will  most likely be to large to be an ornament. I made a few changes. l copied Priscilla's example and changed to a white picket fence. Also changed my bird to a black bird.

My creepy tree is from the JCS Halloween Collection. As stitched it looks like just an Autumn scene. The magazine model has two bat buttons in the upper corners. I will have to look around for something to adorn my ornament.

After some trial and error, I finally came up with a pattern to stitch for this month's theme.

My ghost is a freebie from Hobby Loco. More about the selection process and my finishing plans on my blog. 

 I stitched him with Kreinik #8 054F.

And yes,he glows it the dark!

I didn't find a bad fairy to stitch this month. My Halloween ornament is a needlepoint candy corn. My candy corn is  stitched on 18ct canvas, using perle cotton, floss, Krenik cord and some beads.
