Noni's February Update

Skeletons.... everywhere I look I see these lovely skeletons, yet when I came to find a design to stitch it took me ages to choose.

Finally I went back to a design that I had put on my "must stitch" list some time ago... I started stitching this last weekend and worked on it until I got to a skeleton!  So here he is.... my skeleton! (I just noticed that I haven't quite finished him... oops for some reason my brain said I had, but I now see I am missing a bit of his tummy....)

"Dancing in the Moonlight"
Designer: Praiseworthy Stitches
The design is from Praiseworthy Stitches and is called "Dancing in the Moonlight".  I am stitching this on a beautiful fabric called "Riders on the Storm" (32ct Belfast Opal) from Colour Cascade Fabrics.  I just love this design.  It has been on my stitching list ever since I saw it in the Just Cross Stitch 2013 Halloween Special Edition magazine.

January and February are now done and dusted... and March's owl is waiting patiently in the Q-snaps for me to get back to him!

See you next month :o)
Til then, Happy Halloween Stitching!

Another Finish!

My MIL showed this to husband when she browsing around the web and he asked me to stitch it for him, I didn't expect it to come out so huge on 18 ct!

I finished this late tonight. It took between 4-5 days to complete it!

It's a freebie from Bracelet Book!

This is my third skeleton this month!

February's Ornie

My Ornie for this month is from JCS Halloween Issue 2013, Trick of Treat by Julia Lucas Designs was stitched on perforated paper with floss and beads. I used fabric and DMC blanc floss. I finished it as a flat ornament.

Jo's February Ornament

I found it quite hard to find the perfect skeleton pattern.  There was only one in the JCS issues I have and I stitched that before.  I remembered this chart from browsing the internet and tried to find it with some difficulty,

I could find the picture on Pinterest via Google Images but no-one ever bothers to credit and link the designers there.  So frustrating!  Eventually I found the chart on the Casa Cenina website.  Hooray!

Here is the Dancing Skeleton on his own, this would make a great ornie by itself:

And here is the completed piece:
Cuore di Hallowe'en by Savoir faire Vailly
Stitched over one on 32count Cognac evenweave
DMC B5200, 310 and 740

When I had finished stitching I showed it to my son and said "It's a skeleton, some ghosts and some long legged beasties, I think".  He was the one who realised that the black shape is actually a skeleton cat.  Sometimes you can be too close to a piece to see it!

February's Skeleton

Thank you for letting me join this group (even if it was a little late).

I'll have to go back and stitch a witch, since I missed January, but I have picked my patterns for some of the future months.

Here is my Skeleton for the month of February

This come from th 2011 Easy Cross Stitch Calendar (I miss the calendar).
The designs were by Elizabeth Spurlock.
This appeared on Oct 31/Nov 1 date

The stitch count is 35x35 and I stitched on 14ct Fiddler Aida.
The heart was actual suppose to be DMC603, but I'm not really a pink person so I changed to DMC740.

Creepy pieces/parts for February

My skeleton for February is just a skull.   This is the second time I've stitched this one.  The first time I gave it away to my young nephew but this one is for me.  I think I'll finish it the same way but with a silver spider instead to match the ghostly hue.    It's a freebie from skulladay.com.

Noni's January Witch

Hello!  Long time no see around here.... sorry I have been much very missing in action with my Halloween stitching lately - but hopefully you will all be very happy to know that things are getting back on track again (thanks in no part to the Crazy January challenges I participated in last month)!

For my January witch I decided to stitch another Snowflower Diaries witch - this time it was "Winter Witch".  Remember I stitched the "Spring Witch" last year which gave us a coven of Spring Witch? So after stitching Spring, I could hardly ignore Winter, could I?

So here she is:
Winter Witch - designer: Snowflower Diaries
stitched on "Hocus Pocus" 32ct Belfast from Stitches & Spice
The fabric I stitched her on is actually a dark midnight blue colour but in the photo it does appear to have a purple tinge.... I love how the red shows up on this fabric...

Now it's onto February's skeleton - let's hope I can get that posted before the end of February!

Til then, Happy Spooky Stitching!

April's February Ornament

This is my little take for a skeleton.  Since I am not a skeleton fan, I decided on this little tombstone with the skeleton head from Notforgotten Farm.! Stitched on scrap fabric from my stash using GAST Blackbird.
