All caught up! Jul/Aug for Anne S

Wow, I really got 'in the zone' this weekend with my stitching - I think I even surprised myself yesterday!!  Here are my choices for July and August.

July - Ghosts

"Happy Halloween" by Simple Stitches (freebie)
Stitched on 32ct summer khaki (or dirty?) Belfast linen
with my own choice of DMC threads (similar to the charted GAST)

August - Creepy Trees

I once again went back to Prairie Schooler's When Witches Go Riding to stitch the main tree - this is where I can see the colours are very different between the witch and the tree, so I guess I'll have to re-stitch the witch etc before I'm 100% happy with it.

Gwen: July Ghost

After some trial and error, I finally came up with a pattern to stitch for this month's theme.
My ghost is a freebie from Hobby Loco. More about the selection process and my finishing plans on my blog
 I stitched him with Kreinik #8 054F.
And yes,he glows it the dark!

(slightly out of focus, will try later for a better picture)

Cheryl's July Ghost

This little ghostie was an experiment.  I was stitching a blackwork pumpkin & thinking about my July ghost.  I wondered if I could make it look like a little ghostie was flying past a patterned wall & the wall would show through him due to his transparency ... hmmm.

So here he is! The entire stitched area is only 1-1/2" tall and just a bit wider.  But I think he turned out pretty cute.

Noni's Blue Ribbon Ghost!

At the risk of sounding boring... I continued on with my Blue Ribbon Designs stitching and stitched another small (insert quick) design from the Halloween Portraits" by Blue Ribbon Designs.  This one took me the better part of Tuesday afternoon/evening last week when I was at home feeling sick and miserable!

He is a funny looking ghost... but a ghost he is!  The bottom on the ghost is confusing me as he looks like he has way too many feet... or is that supposed to be a flowing ghostly robe??

The "Halloween Portraits" designs were published in the Just Cross Stitch Halloween 2015 magazine.

See you next month when spiders will be visiting.....

Ghostly Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!!

I actually finished my Ghost stitching earlier this month but I decided to wait until Halloween to post.... seems so much more like Halloween to post on the day!!

My "Ghost" is actually another square on The Trilogy's Halloween Sneak Peek that I have been been stitching for quite some time now...

Here he is all in his ghostly glory:

The whole piece looks like this at the moment:

I have one more square to stitch once I have finished the pumpkin and then it will just be the black border left to do!

Before I go I have one more pic to show you.... Jo asked us to show pics of any Halloween decorating that we do.  I generally don't decorate for Halloween but this year I did do something....

I decorated my Meerkats (this is an on-going Meerkat competition that I have going with a friend at work - we have started to decorate our Meerkats for various events and sharing the pics)

However you celebrate Halloween, have a great time.... and don't forget Jo's Halloween Blog Hop... my post is up showing my letter of the mystery phrase.

Cheryl's July Haunted House Ornament

WooooooOOOOOOoooooo!

I think my house might have been spookier had I used grey or purple instead of gold.
(I was going for an autumn leaf palette.)

Anyhoo ... I found this free pattern here:

A ghost....

I have finished "Haunted House" as my May piece.

I just squeezed it in under the "Monsters" theme as it has a ghost in it.

It is another freebie from Maja of The Snowflower Diaries.

I am rather please with her.

hugs, Kaye
