Spiders and cobwebs - Anne S

After having an extra long weekend I managed to catch up on my Hallowe'en Ornie SAL by completing the missing March design.  I ended up stitching a smaller ornament instead of starting a larger project, which was my initial plan.  Anyway, here's my final choice - a freebie design by Jacquie Morris.

"Owl" freebie by Jacquie Morris (design still available on her website)
Stitched on 32ct Frosted Pumpkin Belfast linen by Silkweaver (the real colour is more red/orange than the photo shows)
Stitched entirely with DMC 310

Before beads and button

March Catch Up

It's a pretty small spider but it was the piece I was stitching when I found this SAL.  The new needle roll kit from Shepherd's Bush.  I finally got it all sewn together.

April

I've just found out about this wonderful stitch along and I'm so excited.  I stitch Halloween stuff all year anyway because it is my favorite holiday.

January catch up - A Celtic moon doodle

February catch up doodle.  I'm still working on March!

Jo's April Finish - Winged Creatures

As we progress through the year, I have been moving to the end of the word Hallowe'en and have now reached the N for this month's theme of Winged Creatures:

Here's the whole piece so far:

stitched on 32 count Lime Green Murano

Unlike Kaye, I am saving my cat for next month!

I'm useless again!!

Every year I sign up for this SAL, and every year I get sidetracked with other projects and crazy working hours at the start of the year, and I start months late.  Well, this year is no exception!

My choice this year is to once again work on larger pieces where possible, instead of individual ornaments.  So far my focus piece for most of the year will be Prairie Schooler's "When Witches Go Riding" sampler.

So far I've managed to include 3 of the first 4 months as follows (I decided to grid the fabric as I'll be jumping around a lot throughout the year):

  • January - The Moon
  • February - Witches
  • April - Winged Creatures

I still have March to catch up on yet - I can't decide whether to start a second larger design, or whether to do an individual ornament. I have both designs already picked out, I just need to pull my finger out and make a decision!

OOOPS! I just sort of kept stitching and stitching and stitching....

A magical tale

It all started with Witchy Poo here, due to the evil curse she put upon me (lol!) I did not get her finished in time for February.  And then, of course, that meant that I was running late for March as well.  But, lucky for me, a True Love's kiss (from TraderVic, of course) broke the curse and then I stitched like one possessed (so maybe the curse was not broken after all? Oh no!) and somehow I found myself at the end of May, with my Black cat all stitched!  So, a happy ending as now I am months ahead!

February: Witchy Poo

March: Creepy Crawly Spiders

April: Winged Creatures

May: The Witchy Poo's Familiar, the Black Cat (Nobu, maybe? But does that then make me Witchy Poo??????)

And here is the whole piece so far.

So, feeling pretty happy with myself at the moment.

hugs, Kaye

Halloween Happiness... The Spidery E's

Each month during 2017 I will be stitching on the design Halloween Happiness by Sandra Cozzolino / Imaginating.  I have picked a portion of the chart that fits with the themes with the aim to get it all fully stitched by the end of 2017!

Sorry no excuses for being late in posting... this portion of the project was finished well before the end of the month - but time just got away from me (again!)...

Anyway... so March's theme was Spiders and Cobwebs and the 2 E's slotted quite neatly into the theme with their spiders and cobwebs decorations.

Here are the completed E's...

The whole project so far looks like this:
I love this design and can't wait to great back to it later in the month.

Til next time, happy Halloween stitching!
