Halloween Month is Here!

Here's my stitch for October.  This is also an ornament I've been wanting to stitch for a while, and if you look closely, there's actually a wee ghost hanging off the hat!  It's from the JCS Halloween Collection book.  Stitched on 28ct flash linen, DMC, purchased trim and beads.

And here's my Halloween tree.  I'm going to have to get a revolving stand to enjoy all the ornaments!

Spooky Words

Here's my spooky eye chart for September.  I've been wanting to stitch this design for a while.  It was in one of the JCS Halloween issues, but I can't remember which one.  Stitched on 30ct WDW pumpkin linen, custom cording, and a little witch flying underneath!

Theresa's April to August Ornies

Hello everyone - I've been absent for a while stitching gifts and larger pieces.  Now I'm back to Halloween ornies.  One of my bigger-than-ornie-size pieces is Last Stitch Cemetery by Hinzeit.  Perhaps this one can pass for my April ornie?!
Stitched on 32ct Legacy lugana by Picture This Plus.  Yet to be framed.  My May pumpkin ornie is Along Came a Spider by Amy Brueckin from the Sept/Oct 2011 JCS.  Stitched on 30ct WDW peoria purple linen (it's really a very bright purple, but looks gray in this pic) with DMC.  I decided to do something out of the ordinary for the shape.  I like how it turned out!
My choice for June is a Lizzie*Kate freebie, All Hallows Eve stitched on 32 ct. olive linen and finished with a pom-pom trim.
My July haunted house is a popular choice as I've seen it a few times.  Called Boo Mansion from Blue Ribbon Designs in the Sept/Oct 2011 JCS Halloween issue.  Finished into a pillow with hand-made cording.
And, finally, my black cat for August is a section of a larger piece called All Boxed Up by Michelle Lutzen in the Sept 2014 issue of Cross Stitch & Needlework Mag.  Stitched with DMC on a 28ct purple linen scrap and finished with fabric, cording, and buttons.
Whew!  I think I'm all caught up.  Yeah!  Hope you enjoy.  Theresa

Better Late Than Never?

Hi Everyone,

I've been so delinquent with posts.  I did the stitching, was a little behind in finishing, and way behind in taking pictures and posting.  My January ornament is Boo from Lizzie Kate; February is Bad to the Bone from Sue Hillis, and March is Happy Owl O Ween by Needle Bling Designs. I enjoyed stitching them all!

Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet . . .

October's "ornament" I finished into a stand-up over the weekend so I could take it into the office for the month.  It's a Stoney Creek pattern stitched with DMC on ivory 28 ct Jobelan.

Hiss

Here's my black cat ornament for September.  It's a Lizzie*Kate stitched with DMC on mushroom evenweave.  I used a much lighter fabric than illustrated in the pattern.  I just love Lizzie*Kate!

BoooOOOOoooOOooOooOOoo

Happy September everyone!  I'm a little late for August--had the ornament stitched and finished but didn't get around to taking a picture of it in the right light.  This little cutie is from the new JSC Halloween issue.  I stitched them over 1 on 25 count black Jobelan with DMC glow in the dark floss. Finished them into a ghost shape.  Enjoy!

Pumpkin Fairy

Ever since I saw this ornament in the 2010 JCS Halloween issue, I knew I would stitch it someday.  She's stitched on 28 ct Willow cashel linen and finished with tutu trim!  I love the way she came out!

A Little Behind . . .

I'm a little late for June . . . kept thinking it was pumpkin month so now I'm all set for July!  Below is my freebie for June, a little Prairie Schooler pattern I've had forever.  Stitched on "haunted" cashel by Picture This Plus and finished as a tag.  This is the first time I've made a tag, but I followed Vonna's easy instructions (http://tts-learntofinish.blogspot.com/2012/02/floss-tag.html?m=1), and wa-la, a cute little ornament:

Monster Mash

I had a lot of fun stitching Monster Blue for this month.  He's from the 2012 JCS Halloween issue.  Found the perfect buttons to round out the monster ball!

Who?

My owl for April is an adaptation of Owl-O-Ween in the 2013 JCS Halloween Issue.  Designed by Marie Driskill of Blackberry Lane Designs, I left the checkered border off and just went with the owl because I wanted a round shape.  I love how realistic he looks!  Stitched with WDW on 16ct black aida.

Witchy Woman

I enjoyed making this month's "witch" ornie.  This is Hagatha's Hat by Just Nan.  It's stitched on 30ct carrot linen by Weeks Dye Works with DMC.  The hat is stitched in two parts, the brim and the cone, then assembled.  I love these little Just Nan kits because I enjoy the finishing process as much as the stitching.

I Vant to Drink Your . . .

I hope my February vampire interpretation isn't too crude, but every Halloween tree has to have a little humor, right?! This is a freebie by Kelli Smurthwaite stitched on 16ct black aida with DMC 321.  Finished in the shape of a blood drop and embellished with three more.

January Ornie

My January finish is Oct 31 by Nancy Boyarsky of Glory Bee.  It appeared in the September/October issue of Just Cross Stitch in 2009.  It's stitched on 32ct "Ancient" Belfast linen from Picture This Plus with DMC floss.  I finished it with fabric binding just like a quilt and added a vintage key hanger.
